New Facebook Group to promote our ladies! NW Women in Business!

So I have some very exciting new to share with you! I have been having such a wonderful time putting this group together and getting to know all of you amazing ladies. This group has become my passion and I want to do more to promote you to everyone in Seattle. Starting in September I will be creating a separate “Public” NW Ladies in Business facebook group, the one we have now is private just for our members. This new group will focus on promoting all of our badass ladies in business to the people in our local communities. I really feel like we need to encourage people to support women owned businesses in our area. We ladies have amazing products and services and people need to hear about us so that they can support our businesses. I have also been hearing a lot about a new way to promote business these days. It’s called “telling your story”. I believe that people are much more inclined to support someone’s business if they know a little bit about that person and why they started their business. Basically, their story:) Everyone has a product or service to sell and we constantly need to come up with new and effective ways to promote ourselves. One of my goals with this new group is to promote you ladies through telling your stories. Letting the community know who you are, about your family, your goals and dreams for your business, etc... Once the community gets to know you, I believe that they are more likely to use your product or service because they feel a connection to you.

I want to launch the new group after our first large group meeting on September 17th. Since this will be a new group I need about a month’s worth of content before we launch. I will be offering free postings during our first month as we work on adding new members. Also Paid Members will get a free Daily Post as part of their membership. So make sure to get your membership paid soon so you can get one for free.

Here is what will be on the group page:

Daily Spotlight: This post will highlight one of our lady business owners each day. This will include your name, your business, what service or product you provide and a link to your site or facebook page. There will be an option to add your “Story” to the post. If you want to add this I will have a questionaire for you to fill out or you can just post a little bit about yourself and your business. After the free 30 days this perk will be free to all paid members and $8 for non-paid members. To sign up for a Daily Spotlight just let me know. I will also include a link to our member directory on our website so people can check out all of our other lady business owners.

Daily Business of the Week post: This is similar to our Business of the Week on our private group page. One lady will get to post something about her business once a day for 7 days. This way the community gets to know you better and gets to see you go in depth about who you are and what you offer. This will be $25 for paid members and $35 for non-paid members. To sign up for Business of the Week just let me know and I will assign you a week and let you know what I need from you for your post. I will also include a link to our member directory on our website so people can check out all of our other lady business owners.

I will be posting our Shop Local Events here so we can all invite people to come meet us in person.

I will be posting our Local Gift Guides here also to encourage the community to support women owned businesses during major Holidays.

I will be adding all of our existing private members to the public group page once I have it set up. Then when we launch in September I will be asking each member to share the new page on their personal and business facebook pages to encourage their friends and family to support our group. I hope to have at least 1000 members in the private group by the end of the year. I will be personally inviting all my facebook friends.

I will be creating a postcard promoting our facebook page and our directory on our web site so everyone can have some to hand out or put up in coffee shops. I will be handing these out to everyone I meet.

I will also be looking into paying facebook to boost the group page so we can get more exposure. If you have experience doing this let me know so I can chat with you.

So that is the big news in detail:) If you have any feedback on this please let me know. It’s not written in stone and I am totally open to making changes.
